Plymouth's COVID-19 Response

Plymouth Church Revised Protocols for Worship as of 6/16/2021

In light of new recommendations from the CDC and the Wisconsin Council of Churches, the Re-Opening Committee met this week to revise Plymouth’s protocols for Sunday worship and Council approved. These protocols will be in effect for worship this coming Sunday, June 20th. The Committee will continue meeting monthly (or more frequently as needed) to assess the COVID safety situation. If and when protocols are updated, the congregation will be advised.

With the intention of creating a safe and welcoming environment in our building for all who come to worship, to connect, and to work, we ask that you review and follow this process.

  • No Longer Required: Pre-Registration via Signup Genius. Unless there is a major attendance shift, Plymouth will no longer enforce a capacity limit and no longer ask for advance sign-up for worship.

  • Entering for Worship: Entry (and exit) will be allowed through both the Hackett Street (Sanctuary ramp) entrance and the Hampshire Street (Courtyard) entrance.

  • Upon Arrival: Attendees will be asked to sign the brief attestation form, but temperature checks will not be required. This is for the sake of contact tracing, should anyone fall ill.

  • Still Required:

    • Masks will be required in the building, regardless of vaccination status. This protects children who cannot yet be vaccinated and everyone as some adults are not yet and some have extra health concerns.

    • Other safety best practices: Do not come if you don’t feel well. Wash hands and use sanitation stands frequently. Don’t share items with those outside your pod.

  • Still Encouraged:

    • Distancing. Every other pew will be marked off. Post-worship conversations should be held outside.

    • Get Vaccinated: If you are 12 years or older and have not already, get your shots to protect yourself and others. Higher vaccination rates mean easier gatherings.

  • Now Allowed: Congregational hymn-singing (because masked)!

  • Social/Coffee Hour: Congregants are welcome and encouraged to talk in the Hampshire Courtyard following worship. Bring your coffee from home or enjoy provided lemonade while you reconnect with friends in the fresh air!
